Eating While Camping

This weekend, Kendra and I went camping up at Mount Rainier National Park with the baby. It was fun, but we had to cut the trip short because we couldn't keep the baby warm enough at night and sleep at the same time. So we only stayed one night. Dinner the first night was... bum bum bum... hobo pockets! Here's how you make hobo pockets:

Step one: get some tin foil for each pocket, and some stuff to put in them. In this case it was fried tofu, potatoes, bell peppers, a couple of slices of muenster cheese, and some of Tony Chachere's creole seasoning. Usually, I cut things smaller than this.

Step two: put all the fixin's in the foil.

Step three: add the cheese. You might not want to put it all on top like this, lest it all stick to the foil.

Step four: seal up the foil to keep all the moisture in and throw on (or in) the fire.

Step five: eat a nectarine because you are too hungry to wait for your hobo pocket to finish cooking.

Step six: at some indeterminate later point in time, open the foil and dig in!
