I eat. You eat. We all eat. Some of us eat too much. I am one of them.
I've tried several things to curb my intake of food over the past few months, but nothing has really seemed to help, mostly because I have no will power. So, an experiment. Starting tomorrow, I will begin documenting all the food I eat throughout the day. Seeing as we live in the future, I plan to use my phone's camera to include photographs. Because sometimes the things I eat are interesting or particularly tasty, I also plan to include recipes or menu item/restaurant names where appropriate. Non-caloric items such as water and gum will be excepted. They would also probably be boring to read about.
I figure the benefit of this will be many fold. First, I will write more and communicate more. That is good in and of itself. Second, I will have to be open about what it is I eat, so when I sneak that second piece of coconut cream pie at lunch, I have to tell everyone about it. Third, realizing that getting a second helping or having an extra snack will require me to fire up some sort of blogging tool, eating when not necessary will be more heavily disincentivized.
I plan to do this for a month. We'll see if I have the resolve to continue after that, but I'm pretty sure I can do it for a month. I may also include my daily weight (which I plan to start taking tomorrow), and if they are compelling, any graphs or data.
